3 Websites That Pay You To Work Online

How to make money online can be frustrating and challenging, especially if you’re new to the Internet. With the proliferation of scams, it can be hard to find reputable sources of online work that actually pay—which is why it’s so important to stick with sites that have proven their credibility over time. Check out these three websites that pay you to work online and start earning an income from home today!

Elance

Based in San Francisco, California, Elance is a popular job board and freelance platform. Businesses and independent contractors post job listings or bid on projects posted by employers. Elance charges a fee for every completed project where you are hired as a contractor. Earnings are based on your experience level, hourly pay and any bonuses you may receive from bidding competitively for projects.

Fiverr

Starting at $5, Fiverr is an online marketplace for digital services and one of my favorites. Digital assistants, graphic designers, translators, writers/editors – all can be hired for a variety of jobs. Work is done via freelancer profiles that show ratings and reviews and communication is simple. Most gig listings pay about $1 per hour with work estimated in smaller time increments (is 5 minutes or 2 hours). It's a great place to start if you're looking to test out working online or if you want some fun skills on your resume!

MICROWORKERS

If you live in a country where Amazon's Mechanical Turk isn't available, check out MicroWorkers. This site works with clients all over the world to help them complete small tasks. Sometimes, you'll be given a task that could take up to 20 minutes or longer. For example, maybe you'll have to listen to an audio file and summarize what it was about. The pay isn't much per task, but if you complete many tasks quickly, it can add up! There are some less-conventional ways of making money on MicroWorkers—like completing online surveys for instance—but these require good English skills.

PAIDVIEWPOINT

This site pays you to take surveys, watch videos, and view advertisements. The pay isn’t that great but it’s a good way to earn extra cash without having to invest a lot of time into it. This site also has contests where you can win prizes or receive extra money if you win. It’s probably better for teens because most of their surveys require you to be at least 18 years old.
